2. Convert the video into a Live Photo

When choosing the section to convert, favor a continuous moment with a stable beginning and ending. Some conversion tools limit Live Photo duration, so a longer WallyAI master may need to be trimmed. Keep the vertical 9:16 composition and avoid aggressive zooming.
3. Apply the Live Photo
Open Settings, tap Wallpaper, and choose Add New Wallpaper. Select Photos, then Live Photo, and choose the converted file. Reposition it only if necessary. Make sure the play control is enabled if you want the animation to run when the phone wakes. Tap Add, then choose whether to use a wallpaper pair or customize the Home Screen separately.
4. Protect the composition
The Lock Screen clock occupies the upper portion of the frame, while notifications can cover the center. Before confirming, wake the preview and check the entire motion—not just the first frame. If a face or key detail slides under the clock, return to the converter, choose a different section, or adjust the crop.
5. Troubleshoot a still wallpaper
- Confirm that the phone is running iOS 17 or later.
- Verify that the converted file is a Live Photo rather than a normal video.
- Reopen the wallpaper editor and make sure the play control is on.
- If conversion failed, recreate the Live Photo from the original MP4 instead of a compressed social-media copy.
